V9 Building Blocks Course

Prerequisite: Completion of V9 Downloading & Computer Basics and V9 Foundations is required prior to taking this class.
Important:
1. Please bring your PC laptop (Mac laptops are not compatible).
2. Bring your power cord, mouse, and note-taking supplies.
3. You will not need to bring your machine to class. These sessions focus on creating and editing your own embroidery designs using the software; we will not be stitching out designs during class time.
Friday, April 10:Designing a Quilt Label
In this lesson, you will learn how to choose lettering that will be appropriate for small lettering and how to make changes in lettering for a better stitchout, in addition to how to create a Quilt Label Template.
Friday, May 15: Editing and Special Effects
In this lesson, we will look at the basic types of fill stitches and the ways they can be
edited to create special effects. We will also look at the basics of the Reshape tool when we edit objects.
Friday, June 19: Digitizing Pictures - Creating Embroidery from Pictures
In this lesson, we'll create stitches from photographs and learn the basics of Color
PhotoStitch. How do you decide on the number of colors, the resolution, the contrast, and the brightness? Make your stitches photo-terrific!
Friday, July 17:Digitizing in the Hoop
In this lesson, we will digitize two in-the-hoop projects for a favorite pair of scissors.
Friday, August 14: Applique
In this lesson, you'll create Shadow Applique using the Digitize Applique Tool to create an heirloom pillow. Learn how to play with density and thread for embroidering on delicate fabrics.
Saturday, September 5:Quilting
In this lesson, you'll how to create foundation pieced blocks in your software; then
add quilting designs to quilt the blocks.
