Introducing Twilight Garden a brand new sew-and-quilt-along project designed to showcase the powerful and creative features of the BERNINA 990. This modern quilt finishes at 60" x 72" and combines decorative sewing, embroidery, and specialty techniques to create richly textured, visually striking blocks.
Sewing Techniques
Discover how to elevate your patchwork with decorative stitching using Combi Mode, stitching recipes, and embellishment techniques before assembling your quilt blocks. Go bold with Sideways Motion stitches and Jumbo Stitch, and learn expert tips for smooth, confident stitching.
Customize your designs using the Stitch Designer on the BERNINA 990 edit existing stitches, draw your own, or combine both for truly one-of-a-kind results. Add dimension and texture with tucks, twisted tucks, and pintucks, and incorporate yarns or floss using couching techniques for added depth.
Embroidery Techniques
Explore multiple methods for in-the-hoop appliqué, made even faster with the CutWork tool. Enhance appliquéd blocks with decorative stitches and Customizable Quilt Designs, all within embroidery mode. Learn how to use heavy decorative threads in bobbin work to add texture and visual interest to quilt blocks stitched entirely in-the-hoop.
